Mishima is a Catalan indie pop band from Barcelona, Spain. Formed in 1999, the band consists of David Carabén, Marc Lloret, Dani Vega, Xavi Caparrós, and Alfons Serra. The group's name refers to Japanese author Yukio Mishima. Mishima's first two albums, recorded in English were well received by the critics, but their major success came in 2005, with the release of the third album, Trucar a casa. Pagar la multa ("Call home.

Mishima - Original Music Composed By Philip Glass Digital Album. Mishima - Original Music Composed By Philip Glass Digital Album. Director Paul Schrader's highly stylized vision of the life of Japanese author Yukio Mishima finds "its textures made more shimmering by the Philip Glass score," featuring Kronos Quartet, says The New Yorker.

The Temple of the Golden Pavilion (金閣寺 Kinkaku-ji) is a novel by the Japanese author Yukio Mishima. It was published in 1956 and translated into English by Ivan Morris in 1959. The novel is loosely based on the burning of the Reliquary (or Golden Pavilion) of Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto by a young Buddhist acolyte in 1950. The pavilion, dating from before 1400, was a national monument that had been spared destruction many times throughout history, and the arson shocked Japan.

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters is a 1985 American biographical drama film co-written and directed by Paul Schrader. The film is based on the life and work of Japanese writer Yukio Mishima (portrayed by Ken Ogata), interweaving episodes from his life with dramatizations of segments from his books The Temple of the Golden Pavilion, Kyoko's House, and Runaway Horses. Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas were executive producers of the film.

For the sections retelling Mishima's short story Kyoko's House, he recasts his main theme into a composition for '50s-style surf-rock ensemble - bizarre stuff, indeed. This is stirring, potent music that never once condescends to throw in some sort of Japanese instrument. As a side note, the ever-adept Kronos Quartet handle much of the string sections of this album.
