Against the Grain is the seventh album by Irish musician Rory Gallagher, released in 1975. It was his first album with his new record company Chrysalis. The album is mostly new songs written by Gallagher as well as some classic blues and R&B numbers. The album name and cover were a play on words.

William Rory Gallagher (/ˈrɔːri ˈɡæləhər/ GAL-ə-hər; 2 March 1948 – 14 June 1995) was an Irish blues and rock t, songwriter, and producer. Born in Ballyshannon, County Donegal, and brought up in Cork, Gallagher recorded solo albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, after forming the band Taste during the late 1960s. His albums have sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Gallagher received a liver transplant in 1995, but died of complications later that year in London at the age of 47.

Rory Gallagher is the first solo album by Irish blues rock musician Rory Gallagher, released in 1971. It marked his departure from Taste. He decided on two Belfast musicians; drummer Wilgar Campbell, and bass guitarist Gerry McAvoy to be the core of his new power trio band.

Since 2008, this Page has sought to preserve and promote Rory Gallagher's musical legacy  . From the vaults of the Rory Gallagher archive comes Blues, a collection of rare and mostly unreleased recordings of Rory playing his favourite blues material. to/Blues Ranging from never heard before tracks to special guest sessions with legendary blues artists like Muddy Waters and Albert King plus lost radio sessions, this album uncovers Rory’s love of the blues throughout his solo career from 1971 right through.

Who Built The Moon?' Deluxe CD + Vinyl LP Album.

Which is, admittedly, not a bad limitation to work within, if you have to choose – and so skilled has he become at the requisite Fab sounds and styles that the better tracks here fizz with a genuine pop charm. It’s a rare artist whose name becomes synonymous with their style, as does John Lee Hooker’s with boogie. Tracing Hooker’s output from his 1948 breakthrough single Boogie Chillen through hits such as Dimples and Boom Boom, to the Indian Summer of his guest-laden Nineties comeback albums, this 5CD set depicts an artist who knew, early on, that he had tapped into something transcendent, and kept plugging away at it until the world shifted to hear things his way.

When it comes to rock feuds, few are as entertaining as the one between Oasis‘ Liam and Noel Gallagher. The swaggering brothers’ longstanding beef – which stretches back to childhood – was as much a part of the band’s mythology as its devotion to the Beatles, or its fondness for alcohol-fueled antics. And even though Oasis broke up in 2009, following years of threats on the part of either Gallagher, the feud continues to this day, with the estranged brothers trading barbs in the press and on social media. I’d rather eat my own shit than be in a band with him again, Liam said in 2011

Liam Gallagher has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with his debut solo album As You Were. Scoring massive combined sales of 103,000 (91% of which were physical purchases and digital downloads), Liam lands at the top spot with ease, outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined. As You Were was both the best-selling and most streamed album of the week, and is the third fastest-selling of 2017 behind Ed Sheeran’s ÷ and Rag’n’Bone Man’s Human

This Rory Gallagher discography is ranked from best to worst, so the top Rory Gallagher albums can be found at the top of the list. To make it easy for you, we haven't included Rory Gallagher singles, EPs, or compilations, so everything you see here should only be studio albums.

Rear sleeve notes as follows:
Some years ago when GTV - Channel 9's "In Melbourne Yonight" first came on the air, audiences in Victoria were able to see and hear for the first time a talented performer who had hitherto been only visible in the more fortunate habitats of many of Australia's exclusive hotels and clubs.
As a pianist and conductor of the GTV-9 studio orchestra, LEE GALLAGHER in his first year won an official seal of approval in the form of the TV Year Book Award for the "Most Versatile Combination on TV".
After resigning from GVT-9, Lee formed a fast moving, variety packed entertainment unit at The George Hotel, St. Kilda, immediately lifting attendances to an all time high. Then with the opening of Melbourne's largest and most modern hotel, The Southern Cross, who else could the management select to entertain the diners in their palatial Mayfair Room? The Lee Gallagher Trio then received an attractive offer to transfer their activities to The Cockpit Lounge at Melbourne Airport. Lee ably assisted by Johnny Moore on bass and guitar, and Alan Turnbull on drums are currently attracting large crowds to this modern rendezvous above passenger terminal at Essendon. It is indeed a treat to wine, dine, and listen to the music and vocals of the Trio, at the same time observing the arrival and departure of jet liners before a magnificent backdrop of Melbourne by night.
This group has such a proven record of giving the public what they want - from Latin American to jazz - that W & G are proud to have the opportunity to present an example of the artistry of THE LEE GALLAGHER TRIO.
