The Paris Concert is a d live album by jazz musician John Coltrane. Despite the album title, some sources assert it was recorded at a concert in Berlin on 2 November 1963. Written-By – John Coltrane. This set of performance recordings, taken from a radio broadcast of a Paris concert by the John Coltrane Quartet either from 1961 or, as seems more likely, 1962, presents an apt example of that proposition. Matrix, Runout (matrix side A): PP-2159.

I just want to clarify the sessions: "The Inch Worm" and "Every Time We Say Goodbye" were recorded from L'Olympia club in Paris November 17, 1962 and "Mr. . from La Salle Pleyel in Paris on November 1, 1963. Some confusion has arisen from discographers trying to fit all three tracks into one session.

This excellent LP by the classic John Coltrane Quartet (with pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones) is highlighted by a 26-minute version of "Mr. Also included on the album are "The Inchworm" and the ballad "Every Time We Say Goodbye. Although the sound and passion of the group on this date will not surprise veteran listeners, it is always interesting to hear new variations of songs already definitively recorded in the studios. The Paris Concert is recommended to all true Coltrane fanatics.

John William Coltrane (September 23, 1926 – July 17, 1967) was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. Working in the bebop and hard bop idioms early in his career, Coltrane helped pioneer the use of modes and was at the forefront of free jazz. He led at least fifty recording sessions and appeared on many albums by other musicians, including trumpeter Miles Davis and pianist Thelonious Monk. Over the course of his career, Coltrane's music took on an increasingly spiritual dimension
