1980's FULL MOON is probably the most polished and commercial album the Charlie Daniels Band made, in an apparent attempt to follow up the unexpected crossover success of MILLION MILE REFLECTIONS and its hit single "The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Legend of Wooley Swamp" is almost an exact rewrite of that song, in fact. While nothing here became as inescapable as "Devil," its slickly commercial sound struck a chord with the faux-country URBAN COWBOY crowd

Million Mile Reflections is the 10th studio album by The Charlie Daniels Band, released on April 20, 1979. It is best known for the hit single The Devil Went Down to Georgia. The title refers to the band having passed the million mile mark in its touring. The song Reflections is a tribute to Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, and Ronnie Van Zant. Daniels dedicated the album to Van Zant, who had died in October, 1977 in a plane crash.

Other albums by The Charlie Daniels Band. In 1997, Columbia released Collection, which combined the current CD releases of Fire on the Mountain, Million Mile Reflections, and Full Moon in a cardboard slipcase box. There was no difference from the individual discs on the market; those discs were merely put in a box, which made it convenient for a fan who wanted to get all three discs at once.
