Barry Mann, who made his mark as a songwriter, was also a recording artist early in his career. He co-wrote this song with Gerry Goffin, scoring his only hit as a vocalist. Mann would later marry fellow-songwriter Cynthia Weil and team up with her for many famous hits, including "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," "Don't Know Much" and "Blame It On The Bossa Nova. The Halos provided backup vocals for this song. Previously, they sang backup on Curtis Lee's hit "Pretty Little Angel Eyes. This is one of those songs that beat from the very heart of Brill Building culture, this time courtesy of Aldon Music.

Who put the dip In the dip da dip da dip? Who was that man? I'd like to shake his hand He made my baby Fall in love with me (yeah!!) When my baby heard "Bomp bah bah bomp " "Bah bomp bah bomp bah bomp bomp" Every word went right into her heart And when she heard them singin' "Rama lama lama lama" "Rama ding dong" She said we'd never have to part So. Who put the bomp In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp? Who put the ram In the rama lama ding dong? Who put the bop In the bop shoo bop shoo bop?

Stokrát chválím čas (Sometimes When We Touch). Karel Gott, Ladislav Štaidl se svým orchestrem, Zdenek Borovec, Barry Mann, Daniel Grafton Hill, Pragosingers. I Love How You Love Me.

Barry Mann Lyrics provided by SongLyrics.

In this song, Mann sings about the frequent use of nonsense lyrics in Doo-Wop music, and how his girl fell in love with him after listening to several of such songs. Examples of the type of song referred to include the Marcels' version of "Blue Moon" (in which they sing "Bomp bomp ba bomp, ba bomp ba bomp bomp" and "dip-de-dip-de-dip") and the Edsels' ", both of which charted earlier the same year. The song inspired the title of a music magazine, called "Who Put the Bomp"
