The Filth and the Fury is a 2000 British rockumentary film directed by Julien Temple. It focuses on the story of the punk rock pioneers Sex Pistols, and is considered a continuation of Temple's first documentary centered on the band, The Great Rock and Roll Swindle. The Filth and the Fury is the second movie Julien Temple made about The Sex Pistols. His first effort was The Great Rock and Roll Swindle, which was released in British cinemas on 15 May 1980

foul-mouthed Sex Pistols the chance to put up two fingers to the world. Got You In My Camera Unlike the UK tabloids, the rock weeklies supported Sex Pistols, with the NME saying, Don’t look over your shoulder, but the Sex Pistols are coming, as early as February 1976. Still a rather more conservative publication when punk first hit, Melody Maker ran a tabloid-style front-page story on 26 March ’77, complete with sarcastic subheading, ‘Firing Of Pistols’, following the band’s A&M sacking – though the publication did expand further on the story inside. Just A Satellite Of London Granada TV in Manchester first put Sex Pistols on the telly, and the band regularly played in the provinces, building a following before the Bill Grundy debacle petrified city councils up and down the UK. The regional press, however, didn’t always warm to the Pistols.

Only 5 left in stock (more on the way). This DVD blew me away! I admire these men for just being honest and telling it like it is.

Music, Film, TV and Political News Coverage. Photographer Dennis Morris first captured the attention of the Sex Pistols when Johnny Rotten saw some of the work he'd done with Bob Marley. The punk singer, a huge reggae fan, quickly brought Morris into the fold when the Pistols signed with Virgin in May 1977, and for the next seven months the photographer was constantly by their side, capturing incredibly intimate natural images during the absolute peak of their career. It was a time of madness, drug addiction, infighting and constantly canceled gigs, and Morris caught it all on film. Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield was their best-selling album. Richard had a real vision, and after they were dumped by a bunch of labels, he knew signing them was the best way to break out of the hippie thing. It was a very brave move, and it caused Virgin to just go through the roof.

Documentary, rockumentaries, punk rock. Director: Julien Temple. Starring: John Lydon, Paul Cook, Sid Vicious and others. Director Julian Temple's rockumentary toasts the godfathers of punk, the Sex Pistols, with an array of Pistols hits; interviews with controversial manager Malcolm McLaren and front man Johnny Rotten; and a look at Sid Vicious's tragic life. Chronically cranky and famously out of control, the band recorded only one album and imploded after 26 months. But their influence on the music world continues to reverberate.

Everything that can be said about the Sex Pistols has probably been said about a thousand times already. From the filth and fury to the scandals and headlines, the pioneering punk band impacted both music and society during its brief run in the '70s. But among all the hype and hate was a batch of great songs that still inspire kids to pick up guitars decades later. These are the Top 10 Sex Pistols Songs. From: 'Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols' (1977).
