Poland: The Warsaw Concert. The early to mid-'80s were a particularly fertile time for Tangerine Dream: the ranke lineup had been together for several years, and they had been quite busy with soundtrack work and had just signed with Zomba Records after a longtime association with Virgin. For this concert (their second appearance behind the Iron Curtain), Tangerine Dream turned in an excellent performance, despite battling technical problems and the extreme cold of the Polish winter. On the 10th December 1983 Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and Johannes Schmolling performed a legendary concert in the Ice Stadium in Warsaw – a unique event, given the political situation in Poland at the time. The resulting live album was issued as a double LP set on the Jive Electro label the following year to great acclaim.
