Tangerine Dream - Poland flac album

The electronic music group Tangerine Dream has released more than one hundred albums, singles, EPs and compilations since the group was formed in 1967. Tangerine Dream's releases have been divided into several eras based on the record label of the time. Tangerine Dream's first releases were on the Ohr label.

Tangerine Dream comprised of Edgar Froese, Klaus Schulze, Chris Franke, and Schmoelling visited Communist Warsaw 9 December 1983 during one of the coldest winters in Poland on record. Despite power outages and frigid weather Poland was politically in a "thaw" and TD had the privilege of being one of the first western "rock" bands to perform there in the 1980s. Recorded against all the odds at a concert played in sub-zero temperatures and plagued by powercuts in Communist Poland in December 1983, this album represents the very pinnacle of Tangerine Dream's live achievements in their 80's incarnation of Chris Franke, Edgar Froese and Johannes Schmoelling. It also marks the band's break from Virgin records, being the first of their releases on the Jive-Electro label, and thus the first album of their so-called Blue Years.

Poland: The Warsaw Concert. The early to mid-'80s were a particularly fertile time for Tangerine Dream: the ranke lineup had been together for several years, and they had been quite busy with soundtrack work and had just signed with Zomba Records after a longtime association with Virgin. For this concert (their second appearance behind the Iron Curtain), Tangerine Dream turned in an excellent performance, despite battling technical problems and the extreme cold of the Polish winter.
