Jan 3, 2019- The group founded by Edgar Froese whose music has most accompanied me on this life's journey. Their music has fashioned my current taste in electronic dance music- they are the group, along with Pink Floyd, whose music I most resonate with.

The electronic music group Tangerine Dream has released more than one hundred albums, singles, EPs and compilations since the group was formed in 1967. Tangerine Dream's releases have been divided into several eras based on the record label of the time. Tangerine Dream's first releases were on the Ohr label.

Electronic Collection. Compilation, released 2001 -. Cover. The booklet contains a text in cyrillic letters, obviously a biographic essay about the very early days of Tangerine Dream (1967-1970), though the oldest composition on this CD dates from 1988 Releases.

Tangerine Dream – Phaedra (1974). The album that popularised the band and went gold in seven countries despite having no radio play, Phaedra gets props for its distinctive use of the Moog modular synthesiser, sequenced by Christopher Franke to create burbling basslines, with Froese’s mellotron lines sweeping and gushy over the mix. The best parts of Phaedra are the passages where music concrète takes over, Cluster-style, with expansive sections that sound like aquatic aliens singing underwater and lonely kosmische flute lines played by Peter Baumann. Phaedra is often cited as the group’s best.

Their compositions, or rather experimental improvisations, had roots in the psychedelia of London albeit with the "krautrock" twist.

10 Best Tangerine Dream Albums From Number Six of 20 Icons of Echoes. On the air I said I’d pick five, but I decided to go with ten. 1-Phaedra 2-Rubycon Phaedra and Rubycon have always been a pair for me and that pair is half of a quartet with Ricochet and Stratosfear. These are the signature Dream albums, the blueprint for every retro-space artist out there, the sound that influenced ambient, techno, and more. Finally an album that should be on the list, Epsilon in Malaysian Pale, the third solo album from Edgar Froese and a Dream album by any other measure. Tangerine Dream has accompanied me on vast road trips mainly in the wide open vistas of the West and South West. Their atmospheric ambient soundscapes open up vistas of the mind transcending time.
