The Shape of Things to Come is a work of science fiction by H. G. Wells, published in 1933, which speculates on future events from 1933 until the year 2106. A long economic slump causes a major war that leaves Europe devastated and threatened by plague.

David Bowie was halfway through writing a concept album about George Orwell's classic novel 1984 when he ran into a tiny snag: Orwell's estate denied him the rights to the book. Rather than start from scratch, Bowie opted to put some of the songs on a more traditional glam rock album. Diamond Dogs is a farewell to the already fading glam scene. On the cover, Bowie still has his Ziggy hair, but he's already morphing into some other creature.

This spaced-out spaceman and crucified media victim was possibly named, according to the Bowie scholar Nicholas Pegg, after Brixton music hall regular Tom Major – the father of future prime minister John. 12 The androgynous Bowie of legend came to the fore in 1970 when he wore a flowing dress on the cover of his third album, The Man Who Sold the World, and to attendant interviews. 13 His bisexuality – both real and knowingly created through his personae – became central to his appeal to new generations of outsiders.

The Singles: 1969-1993. Oh! You Pretty Things Lyrics. Oh! You Pretty Things is found on the album The Singles: 1969-1993. What are we coming to No room for me, no fun for you I think about a world to come Where the books were found by the Golden ones Written in pain, written in awe By a puzzled man who questioned What we were here for All the strangers came today And it looks as though they're here to stay. Oh you Pretty Things Don't you know you're driving your Mamas and Papas insane Oh you Pretty Things Don't you know you're driving your Mamas and Papas insane Let me make it plain You gotta make way for the Homo Superior.

Here are some of the things we've discovered about David Bowie since he died. The album's artwork, which presents a single black star on a white background, is also loaded with symbolism.

I had to cram so many things to store ev'ry thing in there. Am. C/G. And all the fat-skinny people, Am. and all the tall-short people. He'd like to come and meet us. C7. But he thinks he'd blow our minds. Well she's a tongue twisting storm, she will come to the show tonight. B. F A. Praying to the light machine.

Low is the 11th studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on RCA Records on 14 January 1977. Recorded following Bowie's move to West Berlin after a period of drug addiction and personal instability, Low became the first of three collaborations with musician Brian Eno and producer Tony Visconti, later termed the "Berlin Trilogy"
