Complete your U2 collection. Together with the Popmart live from Mexico City concert film, this marks U2's greatest achievement as far as a collage between the visual and the audiable can go.
Digitally remastered and released on DVD in September 2006, 'ZOO TV Live From Sydney' was shot at the Football Stadium, Sydney, Australia in November 1993. The original video release was in April 1994). Directed by David Mallet and produced by Ned O'Hanlon and Rocky Oldham, it's the definitive concert film of the ZOO TV Tour. The 2006 DVD release also includes a bonus DVD of live tracks, mini-documentaries and the legendary 'Video Confessional'.
Following ACHTUNG BABY was the ZOOROPA album and one of U2's most successful (both artistically and commercially) tours, the Zoo TV Tour, in which the multimedia experience was expanded upon. This 1993 concert in Sydney, Austraila captures the Irish rockers in prime form, performing such hits as "Numb," "Even Better than the Real Thing," "One," "Bullet the Blue Sky," and "Where the Streets Have No Names.
The Zoo TV Tour (also written as ZooTV, ZOO TV or ZOOTV) was a worldwide concert tour by rock band U2. Staged in support of their 1991 album Achtung Baby, the tour visited arenas and stadiums from 1992 to 1993. To mirror the new musical direction that the group took with Achtung Baby, the tour was intended to deviate from their past and confound expectations of the band.
The band's 1993 album Zooropa, which expanded on Zoo TV's mass media themes, was recorded during a break in the tour, its songs were played in 1993. The tour was depicted in the Grammy Award–winning 1994 concert film Zoo TV: Live from Sydney. Critics regard the Zoo TV Tour as one of rock's most memorable tours-in 2002, Q's Tom Doyle called it "the most spectacular rock tour staged by any band".
This was the second of two nights in Sydney, and the first night was used as a dress rehearsal. Famously, this first night was played without Adam Clayton, and was the only U2 concert in recent years played without all four band members present. Recorded by Robbie Adams. This was the second of two consecutive concerts in Sydney. The previous night was used as a rehearsal for the video shoot; however, it is now infamous as the only U2 concert ever played without all four band members present. The music from Zoo TV: Live from Sydney was released on a two-disc album titled Zoo TV Live, also known as Zoo2Live. It was released exclusively to subscribing members of U. om on 18 November 2006.
Zoo TV: Live from Sydney captures a memorable show from this tour and demonstrates the humor and eloquence of a band at its artistic peak. Unlike previous U2 tours, Zoo TV incorporated a mammoth stage setup wired with large television screens.
