It was the band's only album recorded with drummer Chuck Behler and guitarist Jeff Young, both of whom were fired from the band in early 1989, several months after the completion of the album's world tour

So What ! Megadeth - So Far, So Good.

However, personnel changes were also affecting Megadeth: So Far, So Goo. o What! marked the first of many new line-ups, as guitarist Christ Poland and drummer Gar Samuelson were replaced by Jeff Young and previous drum tech Chuck Behler. Though the album is laced with turmoil, the songwriting and composition is of an exceptionally high standard, with ‘Mary Jane’ remaining a highlight. Contrary to a popular belief that endured for many years, the song’s lyrics revolve around a young girl’s obsession with witchcraft (as opposed to marijuana).

This was probably the suckiest Megadeth lineup that ever put out an album (Gar Samuelson and Chris Poland replaced with much lesser talent), however this is one of the best and most fun to listen to Megadeth albums. LOVE the cover art on this album and realize I'm in the minority there.

So What! - released on Jan. 19, 1988 - belongs on any list of the best records, of any genre, of that year So Good. But Megadeth was ahead of the curve: "Anarchy" was also the album's lead single and video, and was a very conventional sounding rock song, giving it wider appeal than most of the Megadeth catalog So Good. It also wouldn't look good in the court of popular opinion. So, before you finished digesting "In My Darkest Hour," you were assaulted by the following song, "Liar," one of metal's most powerful takedowns.

So What!" - Extremely "Mustainish" album, without the influence of drug treatment and medics. Virtually all the compositions can be hung on a wall in a frame, in my opinion, except for "Set the World Afire", "502" and "Liar" - these 3 are somewhat weaker than others. A special place is occupied by one of the Megadeth's hymns - "In My Darkest Hour". This item is dedicated to Cliff Burton, with whom Dave played at the dawn of a misty youth in Metallica
