Album The Thing About Phil Harris. That's What I Like About the South Lyrics. Won't you come with me to Alabamy Let's go see my dear old Mammy She's fryin' eggs and boiling hammy That's what I like about the South. Now there you can make no mistakey Where those nerves are never shaky Ought to taste her layer cakey That's what I like about the South. She's got baked ribs and candied yams Those sugar-cured Virginia hams Basement full of those berry jams An' that's what I like about the South

Phil Harris Vocals - That's What I Like About The South 1947 Phil Harris Orchestra. Phil Harris (born Wonga Philip Harris; [June 24, 1904 - August 11, 1995) was an American singer, songwriter, jazz musician, actor, and comedian. Though successful as an orchestra leader, Harris is remembered today for his recordings as a vocalist, his voice work in animation (probably most famous later in his career for his roles as bears, one being Baloo in Disney's The Jungle Book, and as Little John in Disney's Robin Hood). He also voiced Thomas O'Malley in Disney's The Aristocats. One of those great presences and a wonderfully identifiable voice that still evokes a lot of nostalgia today. I think you could consider Phil the first "rap artist". This is great, thanks! 4 years назад. Skippy Doo. Any man who can say, "If I'd known I was going to live this long; I would've taken better care of myself," can't be all bad.

Phil Harris - That& What I Like About the South Lyrics. Ah, don't take one, have two They're bark brown and chocolate too Suits me they must suit you 'Cause that's what I like about the south. It's a way way down where the cane grows tall Down where they say "you all" Walk on in with that southern drawl 'Cause that's what I like about the south. Sit down where they have those pretty queens keep a dreamin' Those dreamy dreams Well let's sip that? within New Orleans And that's what I like about the south

His hallmark song was "That's What I Like About the South". He had a trace of a Southern accent and in later years made self-deprecating jokes over the air about his heritage. His parents were circus performers Harris began his music career as a drummer in San Francisco, forming an orchestra with Carol Lofner in the latter 1920s and starting a long engagement at the St. Francis Hotel. Harris played a vain, stumbling husband, while Faye played his sarcastic but loving wife. Gerald Nachman has written that Harris was a soft-spoken, modest man off the air. In On the Air: The Encyclopedia of Old-Time Radio John Dunning wrote that Harris's character made the show popular. The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show appeared until 1954. Harris continued to appear on Jack Benny's show from 1948 to 1952.
