John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band is the debut solo album by English musician John Lennon. The album was recorded simultaneously with Ono's debut avant-garde solo album, Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band, at Ascot Sound Studios and Abbey Road Studios using the same musicians and production team and nearly identical cover artwork.

What intensified interest in John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, though, was that it was his first post-Beatles album. But at this moment in 1970, John Lennon himself was in no doubt. That dream really was over. Conditioned by the mighty impact of each successive Beatles release, fans still expected big things of the four solo acts. Not even Let It Be, that slightly underwhelming.
