DC Talk (stylized as dc Talk) is a Christian rap and rock trio. The group was formed at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1987 by Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max Smith. They released five major studio albums together: DC Talk (1989), Nu Thang (1990), Free at Last (1992), Jesus Freak (1995), and Supernatural (1998). Solo quickly became Norway's most popular soft drink, and until the 1960s was bigger than Coca-Cola in Norway. Variants of the original Solo include Solo Super (less sugar), Solo Sunset and Solrik (juice).

When the trio DC Talk released their best-of album Intermission in 2000, many thought it was the end of the group's collaboration. However, members Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait, and Kmax assured listeners that the project and one-year break they were taking were merely the beginning of more to come, not only from DC Talk as a whole, but from the three as individual artists. The album opens with a live recording of "40 Live" from DC Talk, followed by two songs from.

DC Talk is the first studio album released from vocal trio DC Talk. It is the most hip hop-oriented of all of their albums as each later album gradually progressed into a more rock-centered sound. Michael Tait stated that their original goal for the album was to sell 10,000 units. It sold 7,142 units in 1989. After their popularity spiked with the release of Free at Last, back sales increased although it is the only of their studio albums to not reach RIAA gold status (500,000 units sold).

Solo is a glimpse into this future with 2 new tracks from each artist plus one previously unreleased song ("Forty") from dc talk. The results are simply amazing. While listening to each artist, you really get a sense of how all three make up dc talk. Toby brings the rap/hip-hop elements, Tait brings the harmonies and Kevin brings the artistry. Combined, we all know what they produce, but separately, it's almost surreal as you listen to each part of the puzzle that makes up dc talk as a whole. Tait is pure rock and the two songs provided have already sold me on his upcoming album. Toby is rap/hip-hop and the 2 songs have excited me as well. Only Kevin's music sparks my interest to hear more, without deciding one way or another.

Pictures, videos, biodata, and files relating to Solo (DC Talk album) are also acceptable encyclopedic sources.
