Arthur Edward Pepper Jr. (September 1, 1925 – June 15, 1982) was an American alto saxophonist and very occasional tenor saxophonist and clarinetist. A longtime figure in West Coast jazz, Pepper came to prominence in Stan Kenton's big band. He was known for his emotionally charged performances and several stylistic shifts throughout his career, and was described by critic Scott Yanow as "the world's great altoist" at the time of his death.

Gettin' Together is a 1960 jazz album by saxophonist Art Pepper playing with Conte Candoli, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb. The sleeve notes (by Martin Williams) describe the album as 'a sort of sequel to the earlier Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section' which also featured Miles Davis rhythm section of its time.

Art Pepper - alto saxophone Conte Candoli - trumpet Wynton Kelly - piano Paul Chambers - acoustic bass Jimmy Cobb - drums. As a sort of follow-up to Art Pepper's matchup with Miles Davis's trio in the 1957 classic Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section, Pepper utilizes Davis's sidemen on this 1960 near-classic. In addition to pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Jimmy Cobb, trumpeter Conte Candoli makes the group a quintet on four of the eight numbers.
