Tom Verlaine (born Thomas Miller, December 13, 1949) is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist, best known as the frontman of the New York City rock band Television. Tom Verlaine was born Thomas Miller in Denville, New Jersey, and moved to Wilmington, Delaware at age 6. He began studying piano at an early age, but switched to saxophone in middle school after hearing a record by Stan Getz.

Always Lyrics I know how easy things can rot I need your tender spot I see what makes a man go dry He cannot close his eye. Help me. Ooooooo Darling The mysteries come and go But love remains the best kept secret in town Think it over Think it over. You know these cold-blooded streets They ain't no place to meet.

Tom Verlaine's second album as a solo artist after disbanding Television is not groundbreaking or innovative as much as it is consistent. What is distinctive about Dreamtime, aside from its thick guitar fortifications, firm stance, and unwillingness to modify a sound he believed in, are the issues surrounding the making of these recordings. The first session was marred by the usage of poor quality reel-to-reel tapes, barely yielding only half an album. Other songs had to be re-recorded with different players, due to the original band's unavailability.

The album was originally mixed by Verlaine, but this mix was rejected by Elektra Records. Bob Clearmountain subsequently remixed the album, and it was this version that was released by Elektra in 1979. com/Tom Verlaine (album).

Tom Verlaine has always been a musician's musician. A connoisseur's cult hero. And given his uncompromising approach to music and career, that shouldn't come as any surprise. Tom Verlaine's self-titled debut album appears to be a more personal reflection than in Television. Being that nothing could probably ever top the epic "Marquee Moon", Tom Verlaine successfully distanced himself from that album in his solo work. His lyrics are perhaps more poetic, his singing voice is better defined, and the instrumentation is fairly minimal, unlike the complex and layered approach of his former band. Television bassist Fred Smith appears throughout the album, as well as The B-52's Ricky Wilson on guitar for the last track.
