My dad was a fan of Bobby Dukoff. As an old fart, I now appreciate this music. I'm just disappointed they did not reproduce the beautiful RCA covers for this release. But the sound is spot on perfectly remastered, true to the original.

A veteran of big bands led by Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and Jimmy Dorsey, Bob Dukoff has made his greatest contribution to jazz as designer and manufacturer of the world's leading saxophone mouthpieces. Designed in 1943 and first marketed two years later, the mouthpiece has provided saxophone players with greater facility to play their instruments.

Robert ‘Bobby Dukoff, a giant in the world of saxophone playing, passed away peacefully on May 3rd 2012 at the age of 93. Born in Worcester, MA., in 1918, he was raised in Sioux City, IA, and Mt. Vernon, NY, where he bought his first saxophone at the age of 14. He went on to play with many of the Big Bands of the era and his playing career is one that any professional would be proud of, but his greatest legacy is the Bobby Dukoff sax mouthpiece. Bobby recorded numerous albums from 1954 to the early sixties including Sax in Silk, a best seller for R. C. A. Victor in 1956 and one of the top ten selling albums of that year. Other albums include Sax and Satin, Pure Sax and Off the Cuff. He moved to Florida and has several studios including one at his home in Kendall, one of the first music studios to open in Miami. He opened a studio in North Miami in part of an abandoned Food Fair building.
