This is Queen live during their penultimate tour; the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil, January 1985. Welcome to the official Queen channel. See the best of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor & John Deacon right here on YouTube. Never was this more apparent than at the 1985 Rock in Rio festival in Brazil. Queen performed over two nights in front of a vast crowd estimated to be in excess of 250,000 people each night. I Want To Break Free, It's A Hard Life, Hammer To Fall, Is This The World We Created, Tear It Up are all part of the new set, as is Radio Ga Ga with its amazing synchronised hand-clapping audience sequence during the choruses. This is Queen live during their penultimate tour; the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil, January 1985.

Queen formed in 1971 and in 1973 signed their first recording contract for EMI. That year they released their first album, Queen. The same year saw their first major UK tour, and in 1974 they released Queen II as well as making their first UK headlining tour. They spent much of 1979 touring in Europe and Japan, as well as releasing their first live album, Live Killers. They were also approached to write the score for a forthcoming feature film, Flash Gordon. In 1985 they were the headlining act at Rock in Rio, the biggest festival to be held anywhere in the world. They again made history that year with the show-stealing performance at Live Aid from Wembley Stadium, which proved to be a turning point for the band, One Vision being the first post Live Aid release.

Dumb sidenote: The live single release of the song in South America was recorded live in Japan, but I doubt Freddie yelled Domo Arigato/Arigatou (sp?) which means Thank You. Maybe listening to it would help. LOL. Thank you. "Love Of My Life (Live at Rock in Rio Festival)" Track Info. Written By Freddie Mercury. Release Date October 19, 2018. Live Version Of. Notes

Rock In Rio, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
January 11-20th, 1985

At 2.00 a.m. on the 12th January, 1985, Queen stepped out on stage to make one of their most historic concert appearances to date.

Freddie, Roger, John and Brian faced a crowd of well over 250,000 people, the largest crowd ever assembled for a single concert. The occasion was the opening of the Rock In Rio Festival, an extraordinary ten-day event billed as '90 hours of peace and music' - a comingtogether of many of the world's most important music artistes for what was intended to be the biggest rock celebration since Woodstock in 1969.

Having previously trail-blazed Latin America with their pioneering in 1981, it was only fitting that the opening ceremony should be staged by Queen, and their return to the country was without doubt the most eagerly anticipated moments in the festival.

It is a moment that has forever been captured in time...as an entry in history books as one of the biggest rock events of all time...as an unfailing memory in the minds of over 250,000 South Americans, and in the minds of Queen...and thankfully, for the rest of us in this unique video programme.
