The album was released in 1973. The album was released in 1973. No Pussyfooting) was the first of three major collaborations between the musicians, growing out of Eno's early tape recording loop experiments and Fripp's "Frippertronics" electric guitar technique. Brian Eno invited Robert Fripp to his London home studio in September 1972.

On No Pussyfooting (the parentheses that originally enclosed the title are dropped on the reissue), we hear Eno and Fripp discovering the process- it was the very first thing they recorded together in this vein. The album bursts with a sense of spontaneity. The Heavenly Music Corporation" sequence is raw and rambunctious, resolving in long deep waves of aggression, with Fripp's molten, fluent guitar leads putting his rock prowess on display. Of course, these tracks lack the sophistication of Eno's later ambient work, where pristine clarity became his focus. Clutter and impulsiveness haunt the margins, especially on "Swastika Girls", and Fripp's leads seem to stand somewhat apart from Eno's manipulations on "Heavenly". But whatever Pussyfooting lacks in subtlety, it compensates for with sheer mojo. Trending Now. David Crosby Rates Chicago the Band, Twitter, and Game of Thrones.

No Pussyfooting) represents the duo's initial experiments with this system, a side each. Heavenly Music Corporation" demonstrates the beauty of the setup, with several guitar and synth elements building on top of each other, the music slowly evolving, and Fripp ending the piece with low dive-bombing feedback that swoops over the soundscape, bringing the piece to its conclusion. Swastika Girls," on the other hand, shows how the system can be abused

Fripp & Eno No Pussyfooting DGM Live, Panegyric 1973; reissued 2008. Fripp's experimentation with primitive looping came to be called Frippertronics-a predecessor to the more broad-palette of his Soundscapes recordings including Love Cannot Bear (DGM Live, 2005) and At the End of Time (DGM Live, 2007), and a unique guitar-as-orchestra texture that would be used with future incarnations of King Crimson, as well as sessions with artists. Even at this early stage, Fripp understood how to layer brief melodic fragments to great effect, while Eno-whose sonic manipulations put him at odds with Roxy Music front man Brian Ferry, ultimately leading to his departure following the release of For Your Pleasure (Warner Bros. 1973)-manipulated Fripp's playing to create big washes of sound, building great, dynamic peaks and valleys.

The correct name of this album is "Fripp & Eno (no pussyfooting)", not just "No Pussyfooting". it's a bit of a little joke, as in "Frip and Eno (no mucking about)". This is also a reference to "Heavenly Music Corporation" basically being a one-take recording of a live improvisation, as well as the fact they favour quick and improvised working methods in general. The name of the page should be changed!-feline1 11:20, 7 December 2005 (UTC). I'd like to believe you. But I'd also like to see some documentation on that
