Kamasutra is the first and only album by The NPG Orchestra.

The album is entirely instrumental, with repeated musical themes throughout, and was recorded between Spring 1994 and 1996 by Prince (as ) at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA, and by Clare Fischer's orchestra at Ocean Way Recording, Hollywood, CA, USA. The album's title is taken from the Kama Sutra, considered to be the most important work in a long line of Indian erotic literature, written by the Hindu philosopher Vātsyāyana (the Kama Sutra was previously mentioned by Prince in We Can Fuck (later released as We Can Funk)).

The album Crystal Ball is the second triple album in succession following Emancipation. Each of the album's three CDs contains 10 tracks and lasts 50 minutes, resembling Emancipation's 12-song, 60-minute disc lengths.

The album was largely a solo recording project by Prince, although John Blackwell played drums on most tracks, marking his first appearance on a Prince release -)This is pure instrumental bliss from his royal badness ) in its current 4m there is a feeling that the NPGMC gone as far as it can go. The NPG Music Club was a first step; the lessons learned will last 4ever.

The NPG Orchestra: Kamasutra (Excerpt) (label: NPG Records). A1 to B3 & B7, B8 "Coming soon on the NPG album Exodus. B4 to B6: "Coming soon on the Madhouse album 24". B9 "Coming soon on the NPG Orchestra album Kamasutra". The planned album "24" was never released however, and thus remains unreleased. Also, five of the tracks/segues are different compared to the released versions, including Get Wild, and six tracks remain unreleased. Only five of the tracks were released untouched on Exodus and Kamasutra. Chaka Khan: Come 2 My House. Larry Graham: Do U Wanna Get Funky?.

A brief solo piano rehearsal of the track was released on the 2018 posthumous album Piano & A Microphone 1983, preceded by Mary Don't You Weep, which also includes some lyrics from Strange Relationship daughter of percussionist Pete Escovedo.
