The Shape I'm In" is a song by The Band, first released on their 1970 album Stage Fright. It was written by Robbie Robertson, who did little to disguise the fact that the song's sense of dread and dissolution was about Richard Manuel, the song's principal singer. It became a regular feature in their concert repertoire, appearing on their live albums Rock of Ages, Before the Flood, and The Last Waltz. Author Neil Minturn described the song as "straightforward rock

The Band is the second studio album by the Band, released on September 22, 1969. It is also known as The Brown Album. According to Rob Bowman's liner notes for the 2000 reissue, The Band has been viewed as a concept album, with the songs focusing on people, places and traditions associated with an older version of Americana.

The Band was a very album-oriented group, and only had two Top 40 hit singles. So one could argue that a single-disc greatest hits compilation, or best-of anthology as this might more properly be called, is not the optimum way to dig into their repertoire  . Good, lengthy liner notes by Rob Bowman are a nice bonus, considering that single-disc career-spanning overviews often dispense with such frills. Strange, though, that "Don't Do It," their one Top 40 hit single other than "Up on Cripple Creek," isn't here; in fact, there's nothing from their live Rock of Ages.

Future Days is for me the best album I made with Can," vocalist Damo Suzuki has said. Because it was very easy to quit from Can after that album. I wanted nothing from them after that. Musically, I was very satisfied.

I'm surprised how little attention Stage Fright has been given, its got some excellent songs on there.

P! atd is the best! awesome. I'm totally love their songs and not just welcome to the black parade, I love all of the band members for their talent. I believe that they have their own style and that any copy cats out there will never be half as good as the real thing. The fact is their not in it for the money they just do it for their fans, and are very passionate. I'm not hating on any other bands just saying that before people jusage them knowledge the amazing music they the people and the people that they help x. Their songs were inspirational, and they saved and changed loads of people's lives.

The Very Best of The Smiths is a compilation album by English rock band The Smiths. It was released in June 2001 by WEA in Europe, without consent or input from the band. It reached number 30 on the UK Albums Chart. The album was not released in the United States. After Singles (1995), the previous Smiths compilation album that WEA (now the Warner Music Group) had issued, went out of print in Europe, Australia and Taiwan, the record company decided to revamp the package slightly and release it under the name The Very Best of The Smiths.

It contains the Band's two most famous songs, "The Weight" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," as well as the group's only Top 30 hit, "Up On Cripple Creek," and such songs as "Tears Of Rage" and "Stage Fright" that they probably played at nearly every show they performed. It's true that if you really want to understand the Band, you have to hear all of Music From Big Pink and The Band. But if you just want a snapshot, here it is. - - William Ruhlmann, All-Music Guide  . The Shape I'm In. (319K).
