Warehouse: Songs and Stories (1987) is the sixth and final studio album by alternative rock band Hüsker Dü, originally released by Warner Bros.

Album · 1987 · 20 Songs. Along with The Replacements, Hüsker Dü represented all that was right with alternative rock in the '80s. It was a shame that neither group could simply be known as a rock 'n' roll band, but the classic rock establishment didn't let many outsiders in the circle. This double album was Hüsker Dü's second, and while it isn't as gut-wrenching as Zen Arcade, it remains true to the band's spirit. Husker Du's second double-LP Warehouse further showcases the distinct (and by now, divergent) songwriting talents of Bob Mould and Grant Hart without diluting the band's cohesive power. Too early and ugly for grunge, Husker Du nevertheless pointed the way to 1990s indie rock by showing that a regal, if threadbare, elegance can work with a snotty, unruly punk sound. Don't fool yourself into thinking that Husker Du preferred the rock underground - they broke up after.
