Francesco Zappa is a 1984 album by Frank Zappa. It features chamber music by the Italian composer Francesco Zappa, who composed between 1763 and 1788. David Ocker played a piece of Francesco Zappa's music for Frank Zappa because it was popular with some college music students. Because Francesco Zappa's music was not published and could only be found in the Mormon library, Frank Zappa decided to publish it.

Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music(50%).

A list of the Top 10 Frank Zappa albums. Like 'The Grand Wazoo' (see No. 9 on our list of the Top 10 Frank Zappa Albums), 'Waka, Jawaka' plays around with various forms of fusion. But it also serves as a bridge between Zappa's avant-rock work and his later, more sophisticated jazz and classical material. A sequel of sorts to the earlier instrumental excursions found on 'Hot Rats,' 'Waka, Jawaka' is stuffed with big brass and tricky time signatures.

Zappa continued to challenge his audience over the years, subverting their expectations at every turn, gleefully playing the role of square peg in a round-hole music industry he loathed throughout his career. Frank Zappa - The Grand Wazoo (1972). Zappa once said of this and its predecessor, Waka/Jawaka: They sold a few copies in Scandinavia.

The last album that guitarist Frank Zappa worked on prior to his death in December 1993 will finally be released this June.

Frank Zappa's first solo album, Hot Rats is a far-cry from the da-da adventures and audio collages of the original Mothers of Invention. Mostly instrumental and filled with long jams between Zappa, Jean-Luc Ponty and Ian Underwood, this slickly-produced album-one of the first 16 track recordings made-is filled with hummable tunes.
