Steal Away is an album by pianist Hank Jones and bassist Charlie Haden that was recorded in 1995 and released on the Verve label. Jones and Haden followed Steal Away with a second album of spirituals, Come Sunday, recorded in 2010 and released in 2012. All compositions traditional except as indicated.

Nearly 16 years after issuing Steal Away, bassist Charlie Haden and pianist Hank Jones recorded a second set of spiritual folk songs, cut in 2010, only three months before Jones' passing. Many jazz records have explored spiritual folk music - Grant Green's beautiful Feelin' the Spirit from 1962 and Cyrus Chestnut's 2006 Spirit are but two bookend examples. Haden and Jones weren't concerned with harmonic and improvisational concepts here. Steal Away contained primarily hymns, but there were also other folk songs, from "Danny Boy" to "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child. On Come Sunday, the music is purely sacred. It is reverent and restrained (overly in some places, more so than its predecessor).

In 1995, Haden released Steal Away: Spirituals, Hymns and Folk Songs with pianist Hank Jones, an album based on traditional spirituals and folk songs. Haden both played on the album and produced it. In late 1996, he collaborated with Pat Metheny on the album Beyond the Missouri Sky (Short Stories), exploring the music that influenced them in their childhood experiences in Missouri with what Haden called "contemporary impressionistic Americana". This is particularly clear in his work with the Ornette Coleman Quartet where he frequently improvised melodic responses to Coleman’s free-form solos instead of playing previously written lines
