The Collectables label doesn't get much love, and for good reason most of the time. These Don Shirley CD releases can be seen as an exception. I've bought several sealed copies of the original releases, and even after a proper cleaning before play the music is easily interrupted by even a minimum of surface noise. The mixing doesn't sound so distant on the CDs as they do on the original records, and it's great to hear the music noise. Don Shirley is truly underappreciated.
