High Moon Records is having their launch party at The Roxy in LA on April 29. One lucky Popdose reader will be there, with a friend. On June 7 of this year, High Moon Records will release two albums. They will be the label’s first releases, and it will be an auspicious debut to say the least. In 1970, Arthur Lee disbanded the legendary ’60s psychedelic band Love. Three years later, he was back with a brand new Love lineup. Together with producer Paul Rothschild, famous for his work with the Doors, they recorded an album called Black Beauty, to be released by Lee’s own label. Sadly, Lee’s label went bankrupt, and the album was never released.

High Moon also revealed that next year it intends to reissue Love's 1974 album Reel to Real, which was made after Black Beauty, with 12 previously unreleased studio outtakes and alternate versions of songs, including four nted" Lee compositions. When Clark, who died in 1991 and who was recently the subject of the tribute comp No Other, put out Two Sides to Every Story in 1977, it was the country rocker's first record in three years. The record featured performances by Emmylou Harris and, on guitar, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.
