In addition to solo careers and within the larger aggregate of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the musical team of David Crosby and Graham Nash have performed and recorded regularly as a duo, mostly during the 1970s and the 2000s. After the success of Déjà Vu and the subsequent break-up of the quartet in the summer of 1970, all four members of CSNY released solo albums
The core discography of supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young consists of eight studio albums, five live albums, six compilation albums, four video albums, and 19 singles. Originally formed in 1968, the group released one album as the trio Crosby, Stills & Nash before recruiting Neil Young into the band for their first concerts in 1969.
David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash helped bridge the ‘60s and ‘70s with their harmonies and songs about peace and love during a time of war. The group formed after the three distinct singer-songwriters parted ways with their former bands: Crosby was in the Byrds, Stills was in Buffalo Springfield and Nash was in the Hollies. Later, Stills' old bandmate Neil Young joined. They've been off and on, in various forms, over the years.
The first Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young album was entitled Déjà Vu. The album was released in 1970. The quartet would not record again in the studio for another eighteen years. Looking Forward, was easily the best Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young song the band recorded since their Deja Vu album in 1970. Another great track written by Neil Young, the song featured the band harmonizing throughout the entire song. 7 – Almost Cut My Hair.
Young considers this the best song he wrote with CSN&Y. He included this on his 1977 Greatest Hits album Decade. This became a protest anthem as Americans became fed up with the war in Vietnam. Another powerful song is the title track to Crosby, Stills and Nash's album "Daylight Again. It was written by Steven Stills and Art Garfunkel sings with CSN.
